How to do Nail Art at Home

Here are the simple steps to make nail art at home easily. You can save some bucks.

1. Prepare Your Nails

1. Remove your old nail polish. Make sure you remove any old polish lingering on your nails.

2. Trim and file your nails. Shape your nails to make them neat. For nail art its not good to have short nails so do not trim your nails short.

3. Apply base coat You can buy base coats wherever nail polish is sold, generally they are in bluish color. They protect your nails from getting stained or damaged by paint and other nail art materials. Apply one layer of base coat and allow it to completely dry before proceeding.

2.Starter Designs

1. Paint just the tip of your nail with a different color, choosing a complementary color looks good on same nail.
Apply base coat color and allow it to dry.

For painting the tip of your nail, you can place either French manicure sticker across your nail or placing reinforce labels is also better option.

Then paint the tip color above the sticker. If a bit of color is overlapped with sticker, it's not a problem.
Remove the sticker while the paint is wet so that you don't pull of the chips of paint while you take off the sticker.
Allow the paint to completely dry and finish it off with nail polish.

The easiest way of doing nail art is to use one of these nail art stickers.

Using Nail Art Stickers
1.Remove a piece of nail art sticker from the sheet. It is easier to do this using tweezers.
2.Place the sticker onto the nail
3.Press the sticker lightly to let the air out.
4.Apply top coat and your done.

Add Glitter Effect to Nails
If you want to have the complete nail with glitter effect, follow this:

1.Mix loose glitter with nail gel or clear polish and apply it to your nails.
2.After the glitter coat is dried completely, add a top coat.
