After my post about Bedroom curtain models, I got a thought about how to decor my kitchen. For small kitchens where only one person can go inside, it will be very difficult to manage and arrange things. <br/>
I always want to have everything inside cupboards which looks clean.
Here are some tips for organizing small kitchen:
1. Baskets and trays are very homey and useful, not just for carrying things but also to organize collections.
2. If you're renovating your kitchen, a slim spice rack takes advantage of unused space and neatly solves the problem of organizing spices.
3. If you have space where small dinning table goes and worrying about chairs/stools, then choose chairs with no arms or backless stools like below:
4. Another tip for all types of kitchen is that we use lot of oil in kitchen. At the end of week, it takes too much of time to clean everything above cup boards and over the cup boards. We can avoid or atleast reduce this all type of stress for cleaning, by using aluminium foil. Just wrap the alufoil on top of cup boards and whatever oil evaporates will stay on that. At the end week or after 2 weeks, just remove that foil and wrap new one.
If you do not have cupboards on top your stove, for walls also you can wrap new papers or some fancy papers too.
5. Even though we try to have things simple for small kitchen, we cannot. If you can go only pint-sized stove, range hood, microwave and kitchen table that would be also nice. For us, we will lot of big utensils when guests are there. Below is a picture of kitchen which I mentioned above.
6. By designating dead space below wall cabinets as coffee cup storage, Sarah and John were able to free up two shelves that now keep baby feeding supplies neatly organized. The hanging coffee cup rack was installed directly into the bottom of the cabinets with screws; the rack pulls out and slides forward keeping cups within easy reach.
7. To free up counter space, a cabinet-door-mounted paper towel holder was added to one of the base cabinets. This is an easy way to save space without any handy skills; the holder simply clips to the top of the cabinet door and holds itself in place.
Or you can buy a 3-in-1 holder for alu-foil, kitchen towel and also fresh vegetable foil holder and fit into the wall. It's easy to manage and you can get it in the market for 10 Euros.
Small kitchens are often filled with the wrong lighting, making the space feel dim and enclosed. Using pendant lights on the ceiling and fluorescent lighting below the cabinets will gracefully cast light off the counter tops and back splash, visually expanding the space and uplifting the overall tone and mood.
